what I've learned...

Going into this class it seemed about as important as the basic computer class I had last semester. Having taken Electronics for 4 years in Trade school I don't feel as if I learned much of anything new, just went over a watered down review of what I already went to school for. I think where I started learing things is when we began talking about dreamweaver. I had no interest in ever making a website so I was new to it. Along with what I learned in class and Youtube tutorials I was able to build some good knowledge about website building. Something else I learned was the importance of social networking sites for businesses. I already knew that it was somewhat helpful and helped get a name out there, but I didn't realize it was so important that we needed to spend a whole class about twitter and facebook. I feel like this course was strectechd out when it didn't need to be, everyone knows what an email is and I don't really see myself leaving this class with a lot of knowledge i didn't already know. I suggest this class be made no necessary, because it is a waste of money for a lot of students.

Myspace Is So Last Year...

Myspace seemed to start the "trend" of social networking sites. It was so popular because you were able to create your own profile, making it personalized to your likings. You could put music on your page, change the layout and etc. Sometime around last year, having a large profile with lots of stuff on it was on its way out, the new cool thing was to be bare and have little information on it. This relates to the look of facebook, simple and clean. Myspace soon became harder to use as it was rapidly changing to become more liek facebook. Myspace is still stealing Facebook's ideas trying to keep people from deleting their pages. It almost seems out of nowhere that people wanted nothing to do with myspace anymore. As soon as FB allowed everyone to join everyone wanted to be on it. I think this has to do with how facebook was so selective when it started. Myspace is now "for kids" and the more adult thing to do is have a facebook. Everyone seems to be makign the change, but is it just a trend or do people really liek the superior site functionality. I still have my myspace and it is unfortunate everyone is leaving it, I'm not entirely ready to give on it yet, but it seems as if Facebook has take the lead in the social networking race.

so...

the other day I made the mistake of letting a beginner tattooer practice on me. I had a simple design, and after seeing what he's already done, I assumed he could do it with ease, well I was wrong. Now I have a horrible tattoo, luckily it is on my foot. I'm kinda concerned that it might be infected. So yea... FML

Restaurant Review

This past weekend I went out to eat at Outback Steakhouse with my mom and girlfriend. This is always on e of my favorite places to go because of the great style of food they have. This particular one is in Buckland Hills, CT. At the time we went it was empty, there were few other people there which is rare for this restaurant. The atmosphere as always was nice, and the waitress we had was very attentive. As I went to reach for my nearly empty glass and refill was placed in its place without me even noticing. The food was great as usual and served quickly. I definitely recommend going there if you have never have been there before.

Tribes

I think the main idea Tribes is trying to get across is working together. It goes into detail about how much more effective it is to work together. Working together while taking charge. By working with a "tribe" your idea is stronger and can get across more efficiently.

Blog

This is a blog I have been following for quite some time. http://mmitchelldaviss.net/ is a Tumblir that belongs to Mitchel Davis. He is a very popular Youtube star, I chose this blog because he has many groups that he is partnered with. I am not subscribed to all of these groups on Youtube, so when he posts a new video, or update that I wouldn't be notified on Youtube about, then i'll find it here. It has links to his multiple youtube accounts, a link to his merch on districlines, and links to his daily vlogs and etc. He posts once a week a new artist that he is listening to, this is very helpful because we have a common interest in the same music, so i am always finding new music thanks to him. If you haven't watched his videos i suggest you check him out, youtube.com/livelavalive
